Wilmington Spanish Academy Mission

Wilmington Spanish Academy

Located along the Delaware and Christina Rivers, Wilmington has today become Delaware’s largest city. The tight-knit community was first settled in 1632 by the Swedes, and today has over 65,000 residents according to the 2000 US Census. Within the community, 5,000 people speak Spanish in their homes, and 6,000 people are of Hispanic or Latino descent. The city is known for having a large concentration of financial institutions headquartered there.

For parents and educators who wish to explore Spanish culture with their child, the Festival Hispano has been a favorite since 1977. It features Hispanic art, music performances, food, and dancing as a culmination of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Our academy is here to make it easy for any parent or teacher to help their child start gaining the benefits of bilingualism.

With a proud and active Hispanic community in Wilmington, what makes you want to learn the language and culture? How might it benefit your child’s future? Please leave us your feedback using the box at the right of the page.
